Mobile internet restored
Mobile internet services that were snapped amid the clashes centring the quota reform movement have been restored across the country at 3pm on Sunday.
State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed, earlier today said the mobile internet is returning back with 4G service at 3pm.
He also announced that 5GB data will be given for free for all mobile internet users for three days considering their loss.
He made the announcement after a meeting with the officials of the mobile operator companies, mobile financial service, Association of Mobile Telephone Operator Bangladesh (AMTOB) at Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) in Dhaka around 11am. BTRC Chairman Engineer Mohiuddin Ahmed and other government officials were present during this time.

The state minister said, in today’s meeting, we have decided that we can restore mobile internet connectivity from 3 pm today. The mobile internet will be launched across the country from 3 pm onwards.
Earlier on July 23, the broadband internet service resumed on a limited scale in Dhaka and Chattogram after it had been cut off since July 18.
The government on July 17 shut down the mobile internet amid the violent clash centring the quota reform movement.
