Grameenphone network returns to normal
The network of Grameenphone has been restored after around two hours of an outage.
Users can make calls and use the internet from 2 pm, an official of the mobile operator said, adding that the network will be completely restored within two hours.
Earlier, a large number of Grameenphone users in different parts of the country reported that they were facing network disruption since 11:30 am on Thursday.
However, Grameenphone in a notice said, "We sincerely apologize for the temporary difficulty in making calls due to the fiber optic cable cut. Our team is working with utmost importance to solve the issue quickly."
Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar told Jago News, "We are informed about the Grameenphone network down. An explanation will be sought from them in this regard."
Grameenphone’s Head of Communications Khairul Bashar told Jago News that, fiber optic cables were cut off in three places of Tangail and Sirajganj. It occurred due to road renovation works. Customers in North Bengal are facing this problem a lot.
