Citycel workers form trade union

Employees and workers of Citycell, first ever mobile operator of the country on Tuesday formed trade union following fears of sacking from jobs.

Leaders of the organization which is named as Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Limited Employees Union applied to Directorate of Labour on Sunday for its registration.

Ashraful Karim and Khandokar Md Maksedul Alam were elected president and general secretary of the organization respectively.

Ashraful Karim said Jagonews workers of the Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Limited fear of sacking from jobs. In this situation we feel the need of trade union, so we formed it.
