20th int’l conference on computer, IT begins Friday

The 20th International Conference on Computer and Information Technology (ICCIT) 2017 will begin at University of Asia Pacific (UAP) Plaza in the city on Friday (December 22), reports BSS.

UAP Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department is organizing the conference to provide the best opportunity for the computer and information technology professionals, scientists, engineers, educators, researchers and students from all over the world to exchange their scientific ideas, views and thoughts with fellow researchers and participants from home and abroad, said a UAP release on Wednesday.

The three-day conference will include a panel discussion on “Digital Bangladesh - Role of ICT” amongst renowned academicians and personalities from different sectors from home and abroad. This panel discussion will be moderated by Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Vice- Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Saiful Islam.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, MP, is expected to address the closing ceremony on December 24 with UAP VC Professor Dr Jamilur Reza Choudhury in the chair.

Since 1998, the ICCIT is the longest running Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) sponsored peer-reviewed conference in Bangladesh which has been evolved from the National Conference on Computer and Information Systems (NCClS) held at the University of Dhaka in 1997.
