Google Doodle marks Humayun Ahmed’s birthday
World's most-used web search engine Google has created a Doodle on its homepage marking the 70th birthday of Bangladesh’s prominent writer Humayun Ahmed.
In the doodle logo, Humayun Ahmed was seen lounging on a chair with a book and tea while Himu is coming to him. Himu, wearing yellow Panjabi and barefoot, is one of the most famous fictional characters of Humayun's novels, according to a news agency.
The country's most famous writer, Humayun Ahmed wrote over 200 fiction and non-fiction books, all of which were bestsellers in Bangladesh. Many of his books were made into movies.
He was also dramatist, screenwriter, filmmaker, song writer, scholar, and lecturer.
Humayun Ahmed, son of late Foyzur Rahman Ahmed and Ayesha Foyez, was born on November 13, 1948 at Kutubpur in Mymensingh. He died on July 19, 2012 at a hospital in New York, the USA.
