Bangladesh receives ITU Telecom World Award 2016 Bangabandhu Sate
Bangabandhu Satellite Launching Project has received the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) award 2016.
The organization said that they have awarded the prize to Bangabandhu Satellite Launching project for its excellence in providing and promoting innovative ICT solutions with social impact across the country.
The organization ceremonially handed over the award to State Minister for Post and Telecommunications, Tarana Halim at ITU Telecom World 2016 summit held in Bangkok yesterday.
ITU is a unique international platform for government and industry. It helps government and industry to connect with start-ups and digital entrepreneurs in the ICT sector so that they can explore partnership and share ideas.
The Bangabandhu-1 is set to be launched in December 2017 with a cost of Tk 2,967 crore.
