Suarez reveals his relationship with Messi

Luis Suarez has revealed details about his career with Barcelona and, amongst other things, his relationship with Lionel Messi.

The Uruguayan was the European Golden Shoe winner last season with 40 league goals and has currently won seven titles with the Blaugrana.

Speaking to El Pais, Suarez spoke about life with the Spanish champions and being part of the feared ‘MSN’ trio.

‘We all have our role and all of us could get in the squad of other teams,’ he said, ‘But Leo is the best here.  There have been players who came here to be stars, but, eventually, they failed.

‘My relationship with Messi off the pitch is a plus. If you aren’t happy off the pitch then you cannot be in a good relationship with the best player in the world, which makes the difference.’

Suarez has scored 85 goals in 97 appearances over two seasons for Barça and helped fire the club to an unprecedented second treble in his debut season at the Camp Nou.

‘I don’t keep count [of my goals],’ Suarez concluded, ‘But if you ask me if I remember a certain strike, I can recall each one.’
