Bangladesh name squad for 1st Test against Zimbabwe, Taskin ruled out

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the squad for the first Test of the two-match home series against Zimbabwe, starting on April 20 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The second Test will be held in Chattogram from April 28.
A key omission from the squad is fast bowler Taskin Ahmed, who has been sidelined due to a left Achilles tendon injury. BCB’s senior physician, Dr. Debashis Chowdhury, confirmed that Taskin is undergoing rehabilitation and has not been cleared for the series.
Replacing him is 22-year-old Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who received his maiden Test call-up. The right-arm pacer has played 28 white-ball matches for Bangladesh but is yet to make his debut in the longest format.
This series marks the start of a busy international schedule for Bangladesh, with the team set to play non-stop cricket until early 2027.
