The SAFF Women’s Championship-winning Bangladesh Women’s Football team has dedicated their Ekushey Padak to those who work tirelessly behind the scenes to advance society and culture. 

Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus presented the award during a ceremony at Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Thursday.

After receiving the country’s second highest civilian honour, team captain Sabina Khatun shared her thoughts in a Facebook post: “Alhamdulillah. This award belongs to those who have enriched our culture, literature, education, and every facet of society. We dedicate it to our mother tongue, Bengali, and to all the unsung heroes who strive silently every day to uplift our society and culture.”

“We hope that recognising women’s contributions to sports in this way will inspire future generations even more. For this, we are deeply grateful. heartfelt thanks to everyone who has continually supported and encouraged us,” she added.
