Yunus to accord reception to women’s football team today

Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus will host a reception on Thursday for the Bangladesh national women's football team for clinching the title of the SAFF Championship in Nepal.

“The interim government Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus will host a reception for the SAFF-winning women footballers upon their return to the country on Thursday,” said a press release signed by Md Nur Alam, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, on Wednesday.

Source said that the SAFF-winning women footballers will arrive at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 2:30 pm. The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) will receive them with flower bouquets. Following this, they will be brought to the BFF building in an open-top bus. Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan will meet with the women footballers there at around 5:00 pm.

Notably, the Bangladesh women’s football team has once again made the nation proud by rewriting history, winning back-to-back SAFF Women’s Championship titles by beating Nepal 2-1 in the final match held at Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal, on Wednesday.
