Naimur Rahman, popularly known as Durjoy has tendered his resignation as board director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), citing personal reasons.

"I have resigned from the BCB due to personal reasons. I sent my resignation letter to the BCB CEO last night," Durjoy, the first Test captain of Bangladesh told the reporters on Wednesday.

Earlier, BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon and Women's Wing chairman Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel resigned from their post following the ouster of the Sheikh Hasina-led government, reports BSS.

Jalal Yunus also stepped down after National Sports Council (NSC) asked him to do so. Yunus came to BCB after being nominated by NSC.

NSC also withdrew the nomination of Ahmed Sajjadul Alam Bobby and replaced the duo with Faruque Ahmed and Nazmul Abedeen Fahim. Later, Faruque was elected BCB president.

Despite being snubbed party nomination in the last election, Naimur Rahman was elected MP from Manikganj-1 constituency in 2014 and 2019 elections from Awami League.

But before being elected as MP, he was in the BCB board of directors and served Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) as its president for long.
