Yunus phones Shanto, congratulates Team Bangladesh

Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus extended his congratulations to the Bangladesh national cricket team for their landmark Test series victory against Pakistan.

On Tuesday, September 3, Yunus personally made a phone call to Nazmul Hossain Shanto, the captain of the team, to commend him on the historic achievement.

"Heartiest congratulations on behalf of the government and myself. The whole nation is proud of you," the Chief Adviser told Shanto moments after Bangladesh completed a six-wicket victory in the Second Test in Rawalpindi to complete a 2-0 clean sweep victory in the two Test series, said the Chief Adviser’s press office.

He said the Bangladesh team would be accorded a reception after it returns home.

Bangladesh secured a remarkable 6-wicket win in the second Test in Rawalpindi, completing a 2-0 series sweep over Pakistan. This victory marks the first Test series win for Bangladesh on Pakistani soil, a significant milestone in their 24-year cricketing history.
