Pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman, known as the cutter master, will have his operation on injured shoulder on August 11 in London, said Bangladesh Cricket Board officials on Friday.

English surgeon Andrew Wallace will conduct the operation at the Fortis Hospital.

‘Mustafiz is expected to arrive in Dhaka within a week after completing his surgery,’ BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus told journalists at a press briefing on Friday.

‘Our head physician Debashish Chowdhury will accompany Mustafiz during his operation,’ he said.

Earlier, Mustafiz had taken advice from two shoulder surgeons in England –Lennard Funk and Tony Kocchar – to assess his condition and his reports were also sent to Australia’s David Hoye for his opinion

He aggravated his injury during his short stint with Sussex at the NatWest Twenty20 Blast, where he played only two games before being ruled out.

Mustafiz’s second arthrogram report reconfirmed a grade-2 tear in his bowling shoulder.
