Bangladesh kabaddi team suffered their second defeat in the 19th Asian Games kabaddi event losing to Chinese Taipei by 31-18 points in their third group A match held at Xiaoshan Guali Sports Center Court 1 on Wednesday, reports BSS.
With day's loss, Bangladesh's hope of reaching the semifinal almost shattered while Chine Taipei secured their semifinal spot with third start victories.
Taipei dominated the match from the beginning, taking a 10-8 point lead in the first half. The winners' were more aggressive in the second half securing one creditable 'lona' in the match.
Bangladesh will face Thailand in their last group match scheduled to be held tomorrow (Thursday) at the same venue.
In March last, Bangladesh won the Bangabandhu Gold Cup by beating Chinese Taipei by 42-28 points.
Bangladesh last won a medal in kabaddi at the 2006 Doha Asian Games.
Earlier, on Monday last, Bangladesh made a winning start beating Japan by 52-17 points in their opening group match and suffered 55-18 points defeat to India in their second match of the group.
