Kohli shares his childhood pain

As the country gets ready to celebrate the 17th Kargil Vijay Diwas on Tuesday, India’s Test skipper Virat Kohli shares one of his childhood pain.

Kargil War was an armed conflict between India and neighbour Pakistan that took place between May and July 1999 in the district of Kashmir and elsewhere along LOC. In India, the conflict is also referred to as Operation Vijay, which got its name to clear the Kargil sector.

Seventeen years ago, Kargil happened in the scenery of an outstanding peace initiative by former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee who went to Lahore and held talks with Pakistan’s then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Virat Kohli who is leading India for a four-Test match series against West Indies took to his twitter handle to salute the Indian soldiers who lost their lives serving for the nation.

Under Virat’s captaincy team India registered their first overseas win as they blew the hosts by an emphatic win by an innings and 92 runs over West Indies at Antigua.

India next plays West Indies in the 2nd Test match on July 30 in Kingston.
