Women’s Asia Cup: Pakistan crush Bangladesh for second win

Pakistan's bowling attack once again put on a clinical display for the second successive day to help their side comfortably beat hosts Bangladesh in their Asia Cup encounter.

Having restricted Malaysia to just 57/9 on Sunday (October 2), Pakistan kept Bangladesh to 70/8 on Monday and then proceeded to chase it down comfortably to pick up a nine-wicket win.

Diana Baig breached Shamima Sultana's defence in the very first over to give Pakistan a cracking start. The other opener, Fargana Hoque, followed suit in the next over before Baig struck again to reduce Bangladesh to 3/3.

Eventually, only three batters managed to register double digit scores with Salma Khatun stranded on 24* off 29 deliveries. The rest of the lineup crumbled to finish with just 70 on the board. Even though Muneeba Ali fell for 14 in the chase, Sidra Ameen delivered with the bat once again after scoring a rapid 31 against Malaysia. She struck four boundaries and remained unbeaten on 36 and had skipper Bismah Maroof at the other end to wrap up the chase inside 13 overs.
