Ritu Porna suffers injury during SAFF victory parade

Footballer Ritu Porna Chakma suffered a head injury during a parade organized in capital Dhaka to celebrate their victory in the 2022 SAFF Women's Championship.

It was learned that she was injured after getting hit with a roadside billboard in front of Radisson Blu.

Soon after the incident, the soccer player was rushed to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) and she needed three stitches on one side of her head.

The women's football team manager Amirul Islam Babu said Ritu Porna suffered a head injury.

After primary treatment at CMH, she was sent to Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) in an ambulance and she will be treated there under BFF's own physicians, he said.

Earlier on Monday (September 19), Bangladesh women's football team made history by winning the maiden title of the SAFF Women's Championship.

To greet the players and celebrate the victory, Bangladesh Football Federation arranged an open-deck bus parade for them today.
