Bangladesh women's historic victory against India
Bangladesh women's football made history by thrashing India by 3-0 goal in their group match of the SAFF Women's Championship in Kathmandu of Nepal on Tuesday.
Sirat Zahan Swapna netted twice in that win while Krishna Rani scored the third goal.
With today's win, group champions Bangladesh will take on Bhutan, and India fight against Nepal in the semifinals.
Bangladesh conceded a 6-0 defeat in their first meeting with India in the first edition of the SAFF Women's Championship in 2010.
Since then, they could not beat the team in a single match in the tournament.
After around a decade, they got the desired win and it is the first-ever victory of Bangladesh national women's football against India in any competition.
