Tamim announces 6-month break from T20I

Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal has announced not to play T20 international in the next six months. 

He made the announcement in a press conference at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Thursday.

"I won't focus on T20 cricket for next six months and instead, concentrate on Test and ODI formats," he said.

The left-handed batter said he wants to prepare himself for the Test Championship 2023 that is why the break from T20I.

He expressed his hope that the young cricketers of Bangladesh will play better in the six months.

"They (young cricketers) will play so good that I will no longer be needed in T20 international," he added.
