Now Iker Casillas hints on retirement

The 35-year-old thanked fans for the #GraciasCasillas hashtag on Twitter and accompanied the message with a clip from one of the final scenes in Rambo II.

Iker Casillas has hinted at international retirement following Spain’s elimination from Euro 2016.

The former Real Madrid goalkeeper, now at Porto, is Spain’s most-capped player with 167 appearances having made his debut for the national side in 2000.

Casillas was named in Vicente Del Bosque’s squad for Euro 2016 but didn’t get off the bench as David De Gea was the first-choice goalkeeper for the duration of the tournament.

And the 35-year-old has now indicated that he is ready to end his time with Spain.

‘So proud to feel the affection of the fans from #GraciasCasillas. Now and forever, we are all with Spain,’ he posted on Twitter.

Alongside the message, the tweet also contained one of the final scenes in Rambo II where John Rambo says goodbye to Colonel Trautman and wants his ‘country to love us as much as we love it’.
