Shakib to go Jamaica tonight
Bangladesh iconic all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will fly for Jamaica to play in the upcoming edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) on Saturday night, three days before the onset of the extravaganza event.
He would depart at 8 pm on a flight of Emirates.
The fourth version of the CPL is scheduled to roll onto the ground on June 29 with the match of T & T Riders and St Lucia Zouks at the Queen’s Park Oval of the Port of Spain in Trinidad.
Shakib, who previously had played for Barbados Tridents, will play for Jamaica Tallawahs this time around.
Jamaica Tallawahs spent a staggering amount of $1,10,000 which is equivalent to 87 lakh Bangladesh Standard Currency to purchase Shakib from the players draft, which was held on February this year.
Shakib’s Jamaica Tallawahs will start their CPL mission with the match against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots-the fourth match of the league to be held at the Warner Park of Basseterre in St Kitts on July 2.
The 29-year-old ace all-rounder will feature in a squad this year brimming with local talent in the likes of Chris Gayle and Andre Russell as well as international stars Kumar Sangakkara and Dale Steyn.
