Mashrafe tests positive for Covid-19
Narail-2 MP and former captain of Bangladesh Cricket Team Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been infected with novel coronavirus.
He tested positive for the virus on Saturday, his personal assistant Jamil Ahmed Sani confirmed around 4pm.
"In the first sample test, MP Mashrafe Bin Mortaza tested positive for coronavirus," Sani said, adding that sample would be given further to be confirmed more about this.
Narail Civil Surgeon Dr Md Abdul Momen said he heard from one close to Mashrafe that the lawmaker contracted coronavirus but did not talk to Mashrafe.
Jago News came to know that the cricketer-turned-politician gave his sample for test on Thursday which was examined in Dhaka.
Earlier on Monday, Mashrafe's mother-in-law Hosne Ara caught the lethal virus, and she is now taking treatment at home in Narail.
