Treat FIBA Asia qualifying round kicks off on Wednesday

Treat FIBA Asia U-18 Basketball tournament qualifying round will take place in Dhaka of Bangladesh on Wednesday.

The competition kicks off on June 1 and will run through June 2. Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka will partake at the tournament.

The U-18 International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Asia qualifying for Boys to be held at the Shaheed Suhrawardy National Indoor Stadium in Mirpur, said AK Sarker, General Secretary of Bangladesh Basketball Federation.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, AK Sarker, also the secretary general of South Asian Basketball Association said the winner of the qualifying round will participate in the U-18 FIBA Asia Championship scheduled to be held in Iran from July 15 to 25.

Treat Dairy Milk Chocolate and Fruitfill Gum of PRAN Confectionary Limited is sponsoring while Bangladesh Basketball Federation is organizing the tournament.

AKM Moinul Islam Moin, head of marketing and sales and Shakhawat Ahamed, brand manager of PRAN Confectionery Ltd were present at the press meet held at Bangladesh Olympic Association.

Moinul Islam said Bangladesh is doing well in sports especially in cricket.  He expressed his hope to remain stand by in Bangladesh sports.

Ashok Kumar Biswas, Secretary of National Sports Council will inaugurate the tournament.
