Atletico Madrid dominate 3rd MARCA Women's Football Awards

The third edition of MARCA's Women's Football Awards for have taken place, recognising those who shone throughout 2018/19.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid dominated the awards' nine winners.

The Catalans' Jenni Hermoso and Sandra Panos got their hands on the Pichichi and Zamora prizes.

Madrid native Hermoso lifted her third Pichichi, though seeing her pose in the Barcelona colours was unusual, given she achieved the feat while playing for Atletico Madrid before rejoining the Blaugrana in the off season.

Panos, meanwhile, got her hands on her second consecutive Zamora.

Atletico's Angela Sosa was named as the league's best player for the second straight season; teammate Ludmila da Silva was the best Latin American player; and another Los Rojiblancos representative Charlene Corral got the prize for Goal of the Season.

Coach Jose Luis Sanchez Vera completed Atletico's dominance, being named as the best coach of the season.

Nahikari Garcia was confirmed as the best revelation, Lucia Garcia's exploits with the national team were recognised as Spain's best player, while Marta Marta Frias was named as the best referee.
