Married life helps me get matured: Liton

Married life helped him enormously to get matured as a batsman and as a person, said Bangladesh top-order batsman Liton Das after hitting back-to-back fifties in the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), reports UNB.

Liton’s latest fifty- 75 runs off 48 balls- has been notched up at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday against Chattogram Challengers. His innings helped his team Rajshahi Royals claimed the top-place in the points table.

“I am a lucky guy because I got married early. It helped me a lot to get matured as a batsman and as a person. I don’t know what the others think about it, but I feel it,” Liton told the media after playing a match-winning knock for the Royals.

Liton hit his first fifty of the season against Khulna Tigers. But in six matches afterwards, the right-handed batsman failed to continue on the good run. He finally got his golden run back in the last two games against the Challengers.

“I used to keep playing big shots regularly in the previous seasons of BPL. But this time around, I am trying to play least shots and get settled in the wicket. I decided to not play all sorts of shots. Instead of doing that, I am trying to think differently,” he added.

Liton applauded Afif Hossain who has been playing aggressively in BPL. Liton said when Afif plays in an attacking manner it helps him to get settled and go for big shots.

“I am enjoying my partnership with Afif. In T20 cricket, you have to take risks and go for big shots early to put the pressure back on the opposition. I am glad that Afif is taking this responsibility. He has been attacking from the first ball which is allowing me to go ball-by-ball,” Liton added.
