Russell Domingo named Bangladesh coach
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Russel Domingo, the Former South African coach, as Bangladesh’s head coach for a two-year period.
BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon revealed this information at a press conference held at BCB’s office in the capital’s Mirpur on Saturday.
Domingo arrived in Dhaka to give an interview for a role as a Bangladesh coach on August 7.
The BCB officials also conducted a tele-conference with few of the probable candidates such as Mike Hesson, Mickey Arthur, Grant Flower and Mahela Jayawardene.
Domingo took over as the coach of South Africa T20 side in 2012 before he replaced Gary Kirsten in the remaining formats in 2013. He was in charge of the Proteas till 2017 before Otis Gibson took over in 2017.
Earlier, BCB appointed former South Africa pacer Charl Langeveldt as the pace bowling coach of Bangladesh while Daniel Vettori was appointed the spin coach.
