Bangladesh U-19 beat India in tri-series

Bangladesh Under-19 beat India in the ongoing tri-series in England by two wickets (DL method) in the rain-hit game on Tuesday at Billericay, reports UNB.

With this win, Bangladesh moved to the top of the points table. The junior Tigers now have seven points from five matches with three wins and one loss.

Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field first. They restricted India to 221 for five wickets. The match was reduced to 36-over per side due to the interruption of rain several times.

As per the DL method, Bangladesh needed to score 218 to win the game time. Junior Tigers did it properly as they ended on 219 for eight in 31.3 overs, and sealed the game by two wickets.

Opener Parvez Hossain Emon was the best runs scorer hitting 51 off 45 with six fours and one six while captain Akbar Ali scored 49 off 36 with five fours and two sixes.

Besides, Mahmudul Hasan Joy (20), Towhid Hridoy (30), Shamim Hossain (19) also contributed with the bat.

Bangladesh will take on the hosts England Under-19 on August 1 at the same venue.
