Mustafiz picks up 50th T20 wicket

Mustafizur Rahman has picked up his 50th Twenty20 (T20) wicket in IPL 2016, Match 46 played between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Playing for SRH, Mustafizur got Murali Vjay caught at mid-off for six runs. Vijay faced 12 deliveries.

Before this match, Mustafizur had featured in 34 T20s and taken 49 wickets at a bowling average of 16.10 and a brilliant strike rate of 6.07. He had an even better strike rate of 15.8. Earlier, KXIP won the toss and elected to bat first.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar opened the bowling for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He bowled a tight first over giving just seven runs. Ashish Nehra, who bowled next, was expensive in his first over.

Hashim Amla hit three boundaries in that over, and took his tally to four fours as he had hit one in the first over as well.

Amla was looking solid at that time having scored 18 runs off 11 balls. He was looking particularly strong at the covers.

Bhuvneshwar bettered his economy in the third over as he gave only three runs. Vijay faced bulk of that over. After three overs, KXIP were 22 for no loss.

Nehra came back well in his second over, but he was soon taken on by Amla, who hit the fourth ball of his over for a six. It was a poor delivery pitched a little more fuller. He picked up a single on the next ball and changed the strike.

Another single followed after it. Five singles and a six, 11 runs came off that over. Punjab were going along well and were batting at a run rate of approximately 8 per over.

Mustafizur was brought into the attack. The trick worked as he got Murali Vijay out for six off 12 balls. Vijay was beaten by the slowness of the ball.
