Polosak becomes first female to umpire a men’s ODI

Claire Polosak -- who is currently officiating in the ongoing final of the World Cricket League Division 2 between Oman and Namibia -- made history as she became the first woman to umpire a men’s ODI.

Both Namibia and Oman have secured ODI status after finishing in the top two positions in the table.

However, this is not the first time Polosak is standing in a men’s match. In 2017, she became the first on-field female umpire to officiate a men’s domestic game in Australia, BBC reported.

Polosak, who officiated four matches at the ICC Women’s World Cup in 2017, has umpired in 15 women’s ODI till now.
