Ronaldo forced off with injury playing for Portugal
Cristiano Ronaldo limped off with a muscular injury while on international duty for Portugal on Monday night, reports Sky News.
The Juventus forward went off in the 31st minute of Portugal's European Qualifier against Serbia, with his side 1-0 down after a seventh-minute Dusan Tadic penalty.
He was hurt while sprinting to try to reach a long pass, but pulled up and signalled to the bench to be substituted, before medics arrived and treated his right thigh.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who had to be treated for a bleeding nose earlier in the game, walked off on his own after being replaced by Benfica's Pizzi Fernandes.
Team doctors said Ronaldo will undergo tests, but the forward said he was not too concerned about his injury.
"I'm not worried, I know my body," Ronaldo told Portuguese media. "I should be back in one or two weeks."
Ronaldo was playing for his country for just the second time since the World Cup.
Juventus take on Ajax in the Champions League quarter-finals on April 10.
Danilo Pereira equalised for the hosts in Lisbon with a powerful long-range shot before half-time but Portugal had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
