Fail to take wicket in crucial times: Mashrafe

Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza said they failed to take wickets in crucial times that was the cause behind their defeat of their third ODI against New Zealand.

He was speaking at a post-match presentation ceremony at University Oval in Dunedin, reports BSS.

“The boys are disappointed, but Sabbir got hundred and that’s a positive. We didn’t take wickets during crucial times and after that Neesham’s knock changed the momentum,” said the Tigers skipper.

New Zealand skipper Tom Latham said they managed a few partnerships in the middle and had a bit of fun towards the end.

He said: “We got a good squad of players and to see Tim come back and bowl at a good pace and swing the ball was very refreshing. We are doing alright in all departments and the challenge for us is to keep getting better each time the bowlers take wickets upfront and the challenge for us also through the middle periods where we want to take wickets. We are always trying to learn and this series is no different.”
