BPL five-day Chattogram phase begins today

After a day recess, the five-day Chattogram phase of Bangladesh Premier League T20 begins today with two matches billed for the day.

On the day’s first match, Sylhet Sixers will take on Rajshahi Kings at 2 pm while Chittagong Vikings are scheduled to take on defending champions Rangpur Riders in the day’s second match that begins at 7 pm. All the Chattogram phase matches will be held at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, reports BSS.

Bottom-ranked Sylhet Sixers have secured four points from eight matches while Rajshahi Kings is placed at fifth position with eight points from the same number of matches.

On the other hand, Chittagong Vikings dominated the points table with 12 points from seven matches while Rangpur Riders stand at fourth position with eight points playing eight matches.

This year, the BPL has been divided into three phases – one phase will be held in Dhaka, one in Sylhet and the other one in Chattogram. After staging 14 matches in Dhaka, the BPL moved to Sylhet where eight matches were held, it again came back to the capital to complete six more matches.

There are still eighteen matches to go of the tournament and now BPL will move to Chattogram where ten matches will be played in the port city.

After the end of Chattogram phase, the BPL will again come back to Dhaka where the remaining six matches will be held at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur.
