PM greets Tigers for whitewashing West Indies in Test series

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today extended her heartiest congratulation to the national cricket team for whitewashing the visiting West Indies in the two-Test series, reports BSS.

The spirited Tigers recorded their biggest-margin victory in Test cricket as they routed the Caribbeans by an innings and 184 runs in the second and final Test of the series at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium here today to clinch the series 2-0.

In a felicitation message, the cricket-lover prime minister greeted all the players, coaches and officials of the national cricket team as well as Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials concerned for winning the Test series against West Indies.

“The whole nation is proud of seeing the team spirit of our players and their tremendous performance,” she said.

Sheikh Hasina said this success is the outcome of proper patronisation and support to the game by the present government.

She expressed the hope that the winning spree of the Bangladesh cricket team would continue in the future.

In the first Test of the series, Bangladesh beat West Indies by 64 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on November 24.
