Dhaka Test: Bangladesh reach 87 for 2 till lunch on day 1

Bangladesh lost two wickets in the first session as they reached 87 for 2 at lunch against visiting West Indies on the first day of the second and final Test at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur on Friday.

After a good 42-run opening stand by debutant Shadman Islam and Soumya Sarkar Bangladesh lost their first wicket of Soumya for 19. The left-hander went for an expansive drive and nicked the chase delivery to the man at first slip off Roston Chase delivery, reports BSS.

Dependable batsman Mominul Haque was the second Bangladesh’s wicket to fall just before the lunch break. Kemar Roach took the wicket of Mominul who scored 29 runs off 46 balls laced with two boundaries before giving an easy catch to Roston Chase.

Shadman Islam was 36 on the crease as the umpire removed the bails for lunch break.

Kemar Roach and Roston Chase took one Bangladesh’s wicket each conceding 17 and 21 runs respectively.
