Bangladesh beat West Indies by 64 runs in 1st test
Bangladesh beat visiting West Indies by 64 runs in the first Test of the two-match series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Saturday.
Bangladesh were bowled out for 125 with Mahmudullah Riyad to fall as the Tigers lost the remaining five wickets in 18 overs.
Devandra Bishoo ended with figures of four for 26 as Bangladesh struggled on the third day. Roston Chase bagged three wickets and Jomel Warrican took two wickets as Bangladesh’s lead stood at 203 runs.
Chasing 204, West Indies were bowled out for 139. Taijul Islam, who showed his best playing in the Test series against Zimbabwe, took six wickets giving 33 runs in the today’s match.
Besides, ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan became the first Bangladesh bowler to take 200 Test wickets with two wickets against Windies. Mehidy Hasan Miraj also took two wickets.
Bangladesh lead the two-Test series 1-0, with the next match to be held in Dhaka from November 30.
