Bangladesh beat Qatar, reach round of 16 in Asian Games football
Bangladesh have made a new history as they beat Qatar 1-0 in the Asian Games football at the Patriot Chandrabhaga Stadium in West Java in Indonesia.
Following Bangladesh Under-23 football team’s victory over Qatar, who hold 94th position in the current FIFA ranking, on Sunday, the men in red and green have reached the knockout stage of the tournament for the first time.
Skipper Zamal Bhuiyan scored the winning goal for Bangladesh just before ending of the match.
Bangladesh are likely to face either Iran or Saudi Arabia in the round of sixteen game.
