Bangladesh in SAFF U-15 Women’s Championship final
Defending champions Bangladesh U-15 women’s football team stormed into the final of the SAFF U-15 Women’s Championship when they beat hosts Bhutan by 5-0 goals in the second semi-final at Changlimithan Football Stadium in Bhutan today.
The girls in red and green will now meet India in the final on Saturday (August 18) at the same venue, following the third place deciding match between Bhutan and Nepal, BSS reported.
In the day’s match, Anai Mogini put Bangladesh ahead early in the 18th minute while Anuching Mogini doubled the lead scoring the second goal for Bangladesh in the 38th minute.
Tohura Khatun scored the third goal for Bangladesh in the 43rd minute while after the lemon break Maria Manda scored the fourth goal for her side in the 69th minute.
Shaheda Alter completed the winners tally scoring the fifth goal in the 86th minute of the match.
Earlier, India confirmed their final spot as they defeated Nepal by 2-1 goals in the first semi-final held at the same venue.
Bangladesh emerged as Group B champions with a comprehensive 3-0 goal victory over Nepal in their last group B match after trashing Pakistan by 14-0 goals in their group opening match.
On the other hand, Group A runners-up Bhutan beat Sri Lanka by 4-0 goals but lost to India by 0-6 goals in their group phase engagements.
