Brazil make forced change ahead of Mexico clash
Filipe Luis has been named in the Brazil team in place of the injured Marcelo for Monday’s last-16 clash against Mexico.
Despite training with the squad on Sunday, the Real Madrid left-back is not fit enough to play through a back injury, linked to his mattress at the team hotel.
Gabriel Jesus keeps his place upfront with Philippe Coutinho and Neymar tasked with supplying the number nine. Thiago Silva, who scored in the win over Serbia, skippers the side.
Mexico, meanwhile, have made two changes with the evergreen Rafael Márquez playing in place of Héctor Moreno and Hugo Ayala selected ahead of Miguel Layún.
Carlos Vela and Hirving Lozano have been deployed either side of Javier Hernández who leads the line.
The victors will face the winners of Belgium vs Japan in the quarter-finals.
