Asia Cup: Bangladesh trample Malaysia to reach final
Bangladesh national women’s cricket team sailed into the final of the women’s Asia Cup Twenty20 tournament after defeating hosts Malaysia by 70 runs in their final league match at the Kinnara Oval in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.
Shamima Sultana struck 43 off 54 balls while Ayasha Rahman and Fahima Khatun made 31 and 26 runs respectively as Bangladesh scored 130-4 in their stipulated 20 overs.
Skipper Rumana Ahmed finished with 3-8 as Bangladesh restricted Malaysia to 60-9 to qualify for their maiden Asia Cup final.
Bangladesh will face India in the final on Sunday.
Earlier, India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets to qualify for the final.
