Bangalore opt to bowl
Virat Kohli, the Royal Challengers Bangalore captain, elected to bowl first with an eye on the conditions. It rained heavily on match eve, and while there wasn't much rain in the hours leading up to the match, there is a forecast of intermittent showers.
Manan Vohra, the opening batsman, was brought in at the expense of middle-order batsman Sarfaraz Khan, who has managed just 11 runs in three innings.
Delhi Daredevils handed an opportunity to fast bowler Harshal Patel, formerly of Royal Challengers. Mohammed Shami, who had picked three wickets and has an economy of 10.40 in three matches, was left out.
Both sides are languishing at the bottom of the table, with one win and three losses each. This is the first of four straight home games for Royal Challengers. Daredevils, meanwhile, are playing their fifth successive away fixture before they will move back home for a stretch of games at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
