Cricketer Shami injured in road accident
India cricketer Mohammed Shami was injured in a road accident on Sunday while travelling from Dehradun to New Delhi, reports The Times of India.
As per reports, Shami sustained minor head injuries and got stitches on his head. He is currently recuperating in Dehradun.
Shami has been in the news after his wife Hasin Jahan lodged a complaint of domestic violence and infidelity against the cricketer. Shami has been booked under various non-bailable, including attempt to murder, and bailable sections. She also hinted that Shami was involved in match-fixing.
However, the BCCI cleared him of corruption charges and offered him a contract.
Having endured “mental torture” over the last 15 days, Shami, who is set to represent Delhi Daredevils in IPL, has turned to the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy (ACA), run by Bengal batsman Abhimanyu Easwaran's father, in Dehradun to rejuvenate himself mentally and physically.
"Mohammed Shami is safe and sound. He was returning to Delhi from Dehradun after training when there was a minor collision with his car. He was taken to the hospital and got a few stitches on his head. He is perfectly fine and advised rest for a day. He is at a private place after being discharged yesterday only. He will return to Delhi tomorrow if health permits. There is no such injury which can hamper his participation in IPL," Abhimanyu father Easwaran RP was quoted as saying by the PTI on Sunda.
