Tigers win practice match against SL President’s XI
Tigers beat Sri Lanka President's XI by 41 runs in the practice match held on Tuesday at Colombo Cricket Club ground in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Chasing a winning target of 187-run set by Bangladesh, Sri Lanka Board president's XI were all out for 145 in 19 overs, BSS reported.
Niroshan Dickwella top-scored with 27 for Sri Lanka Board President's XI before pacer Rubel Hossain got his scalp. Rubel and Taskin Ahmed shared two wickets each while Abu Hider, Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Soumya Sarkar took one wicket apiece for the Tigers.
Earlier, Bangladesh piled up 186 runs on the board against Sri Lanka President XI with batsman Liton Das blasted 18-ball off 40 that studded with four fours and three sixes at the top of the innings.
Mushfiqur Rahim was in handy form as he composed with a magnificent 5 off 44 deliveries with six fours and three sixes.
Stand-in skipper Mahmudullah Riyad made a quick fire 47 off 27 deliveries as Bangladesh reached 186 for the loss of five wickets from their allotted 20 overs.
Asitha Fernando bagged two wickets for President Xi in his four overs.
Bangladesh will start their Nidahas Trophy campaign taking on India scheduled to be held on Thursday (March 8).
