Sunzamul becomes Bangladesh’s 87th Test cricketer

Left-handed off spinner Sunzamul Islam becomes the 87th cricketer for Bangladesh to play Test cricket as he was selected for his Test debut against visiting Sri Lanka on the first Day of the first Test in Chittagong on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old Sunzamul has an impressive record with the ball in domestic cricket. He has played 60 first-class matches, where he picked up 224 wickets. His performance with the bat is also not bad as he has over 1500 runs with five fifties and a century, reports BSS.

Earlier in March last year, all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain made his Test debut as the 86th Bangladeshi cricketer where the opponent was Sri Lanka team. Bangladesh crushed Sri Lanka in that game to make their historical 100th Test. Since then no new player got the opportunity to wear the white jersey for Bangladesh.
