Sabbir banned for 6 months, removed from central contract
It was believed that the cricketer Sabbir Rahman could be in major trouble for assaulting a fan during a first-class match in Rajshahi last week and threatening match officials. Finally it is realized.
Nazmul Hasan Papon, the president of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) disclosed the punishment for Sabbir Rahman in a press conference today at his corporate office in Dhanmondi.
He said in the press conference that Sabbir Rahman has been punished with the removal from the central contract of national team including 6 months ban, a hefty fine of twenty lakh taka.
Stringent punishment for Sabbir has been recommended by the disciplinary committee, BCB President said.
The recommended punishment from the disciplinary committee identified as a fine of twenty lakh taka and ban for 6 months in domestic cricket. Besides, it is noted in recommendation that this is the last chance for him. In future, if he commits such offence, he may be banned for life term.
