SAFF U-15 girls: Bangladesh beat India to be crowned champions

Bangladesh defeated India 1-0 to clinch the SAFF U-15 Women’s Championship title in the final that took place at Birshestha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur on Sunday.

This is the first South Asian title for Bangladesh in women’s football.

The goal came in the 41st minute of the game as Anuching Marma’s shot was parried away by the India goalkeeper before Shamsunnahar put the ball into the net.

Earlier, Bangladesh thrashed India 3-0 in their final group league match at the same venue on Thursday.
