B’desh outclass India with incredible 3-0 win

Bangladesh Under-15 football recorded an incredible 3-0 victory to beat favorites India  in the Saff U15 Women’s Championship 2017 in their last match of round-robin league at Birshrestha Shaheed Sepahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur on Thursday.

The game between the two old South Asian football rivals could also be considered as a warm-up for the final scheduled to be held on Saturday and the dominating win means the Bangladesh girls, being the only team to win all their three matches, will be the top favouroites for the title.

Bangladesh rested three of their regular attackers – Tohura Khatun, Marzia and Anuching Marma – but still managed to penetrate opponent’s defence throughout the game. India made only one change to their 10-0 win squad against Nepal.

Anuching Mogini opened the scoring for the home side in the 32nd minute before Shamsunnahar stepped up to convert a penalty at the stroke of the breather. Monika Chakma sealed the fate of what was a dress rehearsal for Sunday’s final between the two teams, scoring the third goal in the 53rd minute.

With this win the impressive Bangladesh girls maintained their all-win record. They thrashed Nepal 6-0 in their opening game and then beat Bhutan 3-0 in their second fixture of the regional age-group championship.

On the other hand, in was India’s first defeat after two wins.
