Chittagong Vikings beat Rangpur Riders by 11 runs

Chittagong Vikings have got an 11 runs victory against Rangpur Riders in the 7th match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2017 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium Wednesday.

Batting first, Vikings amassed 166 runs for the loss of four wickets after 20 overs.

Two openers Ronchi and Soumya gave a solid start to the Vikings as the duo made 59 runs stand from 4.4 overs.

Ronchi completed his half centuries from 19 balls which is the third fastest fifty in the history of BPL.

Before departure, Ronchi scored 78 off 35 balls, featuring seven fours and as many as sixes.

Riders’ all-rounder Ravi Bopara picked 2/14 from 3 overs while skipper Mahrafee and Thisara Perera claimed one wicket each.

In reply, Rangpur Riders could manage 155 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their stipulated 20 overs.

Bopara (38) made highest score for Rangpur.

Vikings’ paceman Taskin Ahmed took three wickets and was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant bowling.
