Abahani beat Brothers 3-2 in BPL Football
Defending champions Abahani Limited beat Brothers Union Club by 3-2 goals in the ninth round of the Bangladesh Premier League Football that resumed today (Monday) at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Abahani surged into lead when Brother's Al Amin scored an own goal.
Abahani's Emeka doubled the margin in 33rd minute and Zibon scored the Ahabani's third goal, BSS reported.
Brothers came back strongly as in Walson scored Brother's first goal in 45 minutes and Frank further reduced the margin for the loser in the 87th minutes.
The league was suspended after the end of the eighth round on September 14 to allow the national under-18 team to participate in the SAFF U-18 Championship.
This win saw Drago Mamic's side move to 20 points, temporarily past Saif Sporting Club at third position and place them in second position alongside Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club.
On the other hand, the defeat for Brothers kept them rooted firmly at the bottom of the table alongside Farashganj SC with nine points.
