Shakib reach another milestone
Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan Hasan achieved another milestone as he captured the fourth 10-wicket match haul by a Bangladesh bowler in Tests and his second as Tigers registered their historic victory over Australia by 20 runs.
The left handed allrounder Shakib bowled Glenn Maxwell in the first ball just after the lunch break to take his fifth wicket of the innings after his five for 68 in the first innings, BSS reported.
Shakib also became the second cricketer to score a half century and take ten wickets in a match on more than one occasion as he joined Sir Richard Hadlee who has achieved this feat three times.
Bangladesh's first 10-wicket haul was taken by Enamul Haque Junior in January 2005 as the left-armer had figures of seven for 95 and five for 105 as Bangladesh drew the match against Zimbabwe and won the series.
It was Shakib, who registered the country's second 10-wicket match haul when he took five for 80 and five for 44 to send Zimbabwe crashing to a 162-run defeat in 2014.
But it was Bangladesh's third 10-wicket match haul, by Mehedi Hasan Miraz, that is perhaps most famous because his haul saw Bangladesh record historic win over England in October 2016.
Less than a year on, Shakib's his second ten wicket haul is more, important because his performance helped Bangladesh to take a 1-0 lead over Australia.
