Hazlewood out of Bangladesh and India tours
Australia suffered a blow on the third morning in Mirpur, when fast bowler Josh Hazlewood left the field with soreness in his left side. At the end of play, it was revealed that he was ruled out of both the second and final Test against Bangladesh on September 4 and the limited-overs tour of India in October-November.
Hazlewood had just delivered the first ball of his second over of the day - and his fifth of the innings - when he clutched at his side and consulted with the captain Steven Smith before walking off the field for assessment. With Australia needing 156 runs to win the Mirpur Test, with eight wickets in hand, he will bat if needed before returning home.
Hazlewood was one of only two fast bowlers picked by Australia in this Test, along with Pat Cummins, as the selectors instead opted for a spin-heavy attack. Jackson Bird is the only other frontline seamer in the squad, which also includes seam-bowling allrounder Hilton Cartwright, who came on as Australia's substitute fielder. The selectors are expected to name a replacement on Wednesday.
